Early Life:
Danielle grew up as a fairly normal girl. She had a mother and father that loved her, friends that liked her, and a brother that ‘didn’t mind her too much’. :p. She went to school, played with her friends, and just lived a pretty average life. She did pretty well in school, not the smartest but certainly not dumb with her usual A’s and some B’s. She was well-liked by most people, and tolerated by the others, her friendly attitude keeping her on the right side of most people’s feelings.

The discovery:
Her power manifested when she was 13. She was just sitting in her room, gently petting her cat. She had been working on homework and was taking a break to let her mind rest for a minute. She just sat their and stroked that cat, looking at it and thinking about how she loved her little pet. What happened next made her see that cat in a different light. It happened so slowly at first that she didn’t notice immediately. She didn’t notice as her ears shifted upward and grew a light fur on them, or when her toes started to curl up into a paw, or when she started to get slowly smaller. She did notice when the fur started suddenly shooting all across her body, and when the shrinking accelerated to leave her suddenly down at eye level with the cat at the same time that the bones in her legs and arms rearranged. Within a few seconds she was her cat’s twin. All this was a shock enough, and when the cat’s instincts kicked in, she just about lost her sanity. Of course her fear over the transformation translated into fear for the cat mind, and so instincts drove her into ‘scared cat mode’. It was several hours before she managed by some stroke of luck to regain her senses and somehow change back. She went to her parents, a shattered mess of a girl, and thankfully found comfort in their arms. Her family had been in favor of mutants and their rights and so supported her completely. They didn’t know for sure if this was a mutation or not but of course assumed it was considering everything going on right now. Danielle was really quite lucky to have a family so accepting of her. They tried to help her as best they could to continue on with her life, though her brother was a bit too weirded out and kind of stayed away from her after that. She tried to continue her normal life after that but it became more difficult as more random transformations happened. On her first date she simply held the hand of the boy and within a few seconds they were twins. Needless to say he freaked out and ran off leaving her alone to turn back and find her way home. On another occasion, only a few days after, somebody trying to be mean dropped a lizard down the back of her shirt. The fear of the lizard obviously created enough concentration on the creature to trigger the transformation.

Headed to the Big Apple:
When she was 15 she heard that there would people around New York that could maybe help her, so her and her family spent the next two years saving up to pay for her to move up there to try and find this help. This brings her to where she is today, fresh off the airplane at La Guardia Airport and just having found an apartment to stay in while she begins her search for help. She is attending the local High School for now until she finds what she is looking for.
